Cafepress Template

If you’ve visited my portfolio recently, you’ll notice that I removed a lot of older work. Since I didn’t want to (read too lazy) put back one more old design, I’m including this template I designed for my other site, DesignAvatar.com, which sells Cafepress and Blogger templates.

This site is my other site of Cafepress and Blogger Templates. I plan to add more types of templates with more sophisticated designs, but I hardly have the time. I did these to address the templates offered by Cafepress, which look pretty good as thumbnails, but they are not so hot up close. The idea to make Cafepress templates started in 2005 and it took me 2+ years to get it finished. A little here and there and eventually it got done. The prices are super low so that shopkeepers, who generally are stay at home moms or folks with little dough, can afford to look good. Plus I wanted to gain site ranking too, so a low price means that I sell well (and I do) and each template has a link back to me. Since I don’t make much, and the ones I have now sell, I’m only going to add a couple new templates a year (if that). Sorry folks.

SunFlower Private School

This is a minor re-design of a site by another designer. I took the original table based design, cleaned it up, and then created the CSS and xhtml. I also restructured the flow. This site is powered by a CMS application, which allows the school to update it easily.

My other body is an immortal robot

My other body is an immortal robot.

I came up with this on 29 March 2008. Googling "My other body is an immortal robot" came up with nothing. There's a lot written about immortal robot bodies and how they're the new rage. Religion can't provide immortal robot bodies. Flying heads in bubbles are also becoming popular, since they are cheaper than the immortal robot bodies. The cost of preserving a head is much less than the entire body and at least you can keep your face.

Peekaby

The first logo shown here is not the one they picked, but it’s my favorite. The one ultimately chosen is the last one in the series. You can see it, and some of the other logo designs I created, by clicking the mini images under the main image on the left.

Peekaby is a place where parents can store and share their memories of their children. An interesting side note is that just a few weeks before this job came my way, I had a dream that I was designing a logo with a double e and that I would make them into eyes.

This is another Digiscribe project. I feel that this is a good example of a corporate site, with clean lines and neutral colors. This is the design with the logo I liked best, it’s not the one they ultimately chose.

Christina Creative

My old site. It got picked up by coolhomepages and got really great reviews. One time I had 85,000 page views in one month. That quickly faded, which is good because I couldn't handle the bandwidth. You can see some of the other parts of the site by clicking the mini images below the main image. In the last image, I put a shot of my new portfolio inside my old portfolio, just for fun.

The site is gone. This site replaced it.

Mehera Shaw has the best clothes in the universe. Beauty, easy care, fresh, nice fit, sweatshop free, fair trade principles, earth friendly natural cotton (not bleached). Soon she will be adding organic cotton. This is an ecommerce shopping site with a CMS system too. It has an xml site feed of all products, a site map, and many other elements to get organic (free) traffic. And it works!

Digital Harvest

This site design is long gone, but I really liked the design at the time, and still do for the most part. I’d put the navigation at the top now, the bottom is not a good idea. I also created the logo. This project came my way via Digiscribe, with whom I was a subcontractor from 1999 until about 2002. Subsequently, I worked directly with Digital Harvest’s owner, the awesome Jason Lexell, and have helped create many sites for him over the years.
