Moisture Control Pipe
It was 1994 and I had recently become a freelance graphic artist. My sales force, consisting of my husband (now ex), brought the project to me, along with a detailed schematic of the product itself. This was a very thin-lined drawing, similar to a blue print. He said that the customer wanted the schematic in the logo. I knew that it wouldn’t work because it wouldn’t reduce well (no one would be able to tell what it was). Plus, it was fugly. After learning about the product, I drew this simple illustration. The Moisture Control Pipe is an innovative system for underground irrigation for medians and lawns. This was the only logo I presented to the client: even though it wasn’t what they asked for — they loved it!
