CSS Cleaner for Pretty, Compressed, CSS styles
I don’t know about you, but when I make a style sheet, I’m pretty messy. In the past I’d have a lot of classes and divs. In the last year or so, I use hierarchy (div#header p ... or body.home div#header ...). This is much better and results in less divs and classes. This is a newer way for me (it’s good to read a book, rather than go at it alone), so it’s not seen in the style sheet for this site, for the most part.
I usually write the style on a long line and then I’ll go back and indent to make it look better and easier to read, but not if I’m in a rush. Now I can clean up my CSS automatically with CSS Cleaner, a free online tool. I paste in my sheet and get it spit back with clean, consistent formatting in a variety of ways. It will even compress it 30-40% and make it hard to read, if you want that.
I just started using it this week. I love it!
